For
the petroleum industry, the environmental and consumer era of the past
few decades have given the public greater awareness of pollution,
energy, and the need for a high level of industry professionalism.
Associations, societies and professions offer voluntary certification
programs to their members to bring increased recognition of the
recipient's high professional standards and commitment to the
profession. The Society of Petroleum Engineers’ mission is to assist
members in furthering their technical and professional competence by
offering the SPE Petroleum Engineering Certification Programme. Topics
of the presentation include:
· Why should I be certified?
· What is the importance of post-graduation technical knowledge and practical engineering experience?
· What is the difference between credentials by exam or by interview?
· Advantages of continued professional development.

The action taken to local and national disasters is awesome but it's a real shame that so many citizens take advantage of the sad situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
