The Dostyk Football Tournament is opportunity to meet Kazakhstani students throughout the UK and compete for a Champions Title!
The Dostyk Football Tournament is organised by Kazakh Societies in the United Kingdom annually, with information support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United Kingdom.
First tournament was in London in 2008, was organised by UCL and York Kazakh Societies.
1st place – “Mancunians”, Kazakh Society in Manchester 2nd place – “SPE”, Kazakh Society in Manchester 3rd place – Kazakh Society in UK Top Goal Scorer – Yerkebulan Kossayev - “Mancunians” Best Keeper –
After the success of The Dostyk Football Tournament, London, 2008, it is thought to hold it annually. It was decided: which team wins the tournament, that team hosts the next tournament.
Kazakh Society in Manchester is hosting The Dostyk Football Tournament, Manchester, 2009.
The Dostyk Football Tournament Trophy was awarded to the winner. This year The DFT Trophy was redesigned and this new trophy is not awarded to the winning team permanently. The DFT Trophy winners retain the trophy until the next tournament.
Prizes:
The winners get 400 GBP and The Dostyk Football Tournament Trophy
Runners-up get 100 GBP (2nd place)
Top Goal Scorer Award
The Best Goalkeeper Award
Kazakh Society in Manchester Award for Best Player
1st, 2nd and 3rd places get Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals respectively. All medals with engravings at the back.
Preliminary programme:
11:00 - 12:00 Registration
12:00 - 12:30 Opening ceremony & Draw
12:30 - 18:30 Main tournament
18:30 - 19:00 Friendly Match: Winners vs. Embassy Staff
19:30 Departure to the restaurant
20:00 - 21:30 Reception at the restaurant and awarding ceremony of the Winners
22:00 End of the event
IMPORTANT INFO:
1. The DEADLINE for registration for the football tournament is the 4th May 2009. 2. If you don’t have enough players to set up a team, you can combine with students from other Universities and cities. 3. If you are interested in participating but do not have enough players for a team of your own, please e-mail your name and University/City/Society and we will do our best to organize a team for you. 4. Please, bear in mind that maximum 16 teams can be registered. 5. Team captain’s responsibility to acquaint their team members with the rules. 6. Rules, registration forms, bank details & other necessary info will be sent to the team captains.
